Nov 16, 2023 · A map isn’t worth much when you can’t use it when needed. As good as an app may be, I won’t count on it if it isn’t stable. Caltopo: 🟢 Good. I experience the least crashing and data loss with this program, but there are some graphic glitches when panning quickly. Gaia GPS: 🔴 Poor. I stood by Gaia for a long time, but ultimately
Sep 25, 2020 · I use Gaia GPS. It has many layers available. The Satellite Topo is particularly good. TopoMaps+ by Glacier Peak studios (watch out–there are a few other similarly-named apps on the App Store) has a nicer-looking user interface, but not as many layers as Gaia. Gaia ’s printing function leaves much to be desired.

Aug 31, 2023 · However, AoI scales the player count the best (from 1 to 5) and then Gaia (1-4). TM doesnt play well with 2 and is subpar with 3. If you've not played any there are hundreds of hours of gameplay in either of them. But they are 85-90% the same experience. One of the best experiences in gaming, but they are all similar.
The biggest issue is that the location marker, or arrow, does not move with my location in either turn-by-turn mode or simple tracking my location mode. It's incredibly difficult to know when to turn or how close I am to waypoints without this functionality working correctly. The location marker corrects itself only if I tap the location icon

Hands down, Gaia. So many more map options and layers. I fear OnX is going to go the way of iOverlander in terms of reliability.
